Kelly H. Bartling, M.A.

A veteran newspaper journalist, Bartling now oversees a multi-unit division in marketing, public relations, recruitment, financial aid, academic advising and military/veterans services at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. As Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Marketing, she is responsible for all strategic communications at the university, including websites, news, social media, video, digital marketing, brand development, creative and messaging for recruiting international and domestic, residential and online students. Her responsibility includes the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform, data retrieval, analysis and reporting of recruitment data and marketing campaign development.

Bartling has experience planning for and managing incidents and public relations crises during her time as News Director at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was the chief Public Information Officer and part of the executive Emergency Operations Team. She helped advise and support stadium and gameday operations for Husker Athletics and managed numerous high-visibility news conferences. Bartling has a bachelor's degree in news-editorial journalism and a master's in communication, marketing and advertising, and as an adjunct professor for four colleges and universities has developed and taught courses in public relations, marketing, social media, crisis communication, news and advertising.

Bartling's extracurricular activity includes media-training consulting, and developing and delivering a communication course for the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security (NCS4) from the University of Southern Mississippi. An award-winning newspaper reporter and editor, she prioritizes strong relationships with journalists, emphasizing transparency and honesty, utilizing targeted, strategic media channels.
